Community Gardens: the best part of urban living

I have been excited to find spaces of greenery close to home. One of the spaces nearby are community gardens.


These spaces have a range of benefits. Dr Johnathan Kingsley published a study which found six major themes around the reasons why locals participated in community gardens:

‘(i) family history, childhood and passion for gardening;

(ii) productive gardening, sustainability and growing fresh produce in nature;

(iii) building social and community connections;

(iv) community and civic action;

(v) stress relief; and

(vi) building identity, pride and purpose’

You can see these factors all over the Park Terrace gardens. These photographs, below, show a beautiful and thriving space for a diverse group of people to take some time out of their busy lives.
